Description

Hailing from the 1920s is a spellbinding Black Opal showcased by a halo of old cut Diamonds.  Time to shine with class.

A remarkable statement ring adorned with a gorgeous natural one carat Black Opal is a kaleidoscope of rainbow colours continually changes colours with the light.

The black Opal displays a myriad of colours - green, yellow, reds, turquoise with a background warmth of orange.

Showcased in a halo of twelve sparkling old mined hand cut Diamonds weighing a combined total of one carat.

These Diamonds have exceptional shimmer and glisten with immense sparkle and brilliance.

Early diamond cutters (today known as bruters) shaped old mine cut Diamonds by following the octahedral shape of the diamond crystal, laboriously grinding two Diamonds together to achieve the desired shape, and a diamond polisher then polished the facets.

Due to the shape of the rough and because the diamonds were hand crafted, dimensions varied from stone to stone.

This made every old mine cut diamond unique, or put poetically, have its own personality.

The very fine and tasteful mounting has been handcrafted in Platinum with trumpet detailing to the shoulders leading to a plain band shank.

The overall finish of the ring is wonderful. Everything is smooth to the touch.

The shank is substantial, yet extremely comfortable to wear.

The condition of this delightful 1920s antique ring is excellent for its considerable age.

If you know someone with a birthday in October then this would be a fabulous gift as opal is the birthstone for this month.

Opal is a stone of protection, faithfulness and loyalty.

Opal is an October birthstone and a 14th anniversary gemstone.

We recommend you insure for £3,500.

Looks fabulous when worn.

Please note that the picture does not do the colour of the stone justice re: depths and layers of colour.

Images does not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and Diamonds.  The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone.
