This is a remarkable pair of Victorian inspired Bohemian Garnet earrings.  The design that is bold and beautiful. Simply stunning and not to be ignored.

These glorious earrings dance when worn sparkling with inner fire! Each earring comprises of 8 ruby red, rose cut Bohemian Garnets.

The design incorporates tear drop shaped which dangles freely as well as oval and round shapes. These rare Garnets are suspended by a Diamond bail.  There are 3 Old Rose Cut sparkling Diamonds within each earring, 6 in total.

These are Bohemian Garnets, so named for their deep rich red colouring.  All stones are genuine, and are faceted to catch the light.

All are Silver and prong set and stable in their mounts.

Jewellery set with Bohemian Garnets was very popular in the 19th century.

The earrings hang 50mm from the top of the earwire to the tip of the drop.

The Bohemian Garnet is only found in Bohemia and was valued for it's beauty and supposed curative and uplifting effects.

Garnets mined in Bohemia are of the variety called pyrope (from the Greek words pyr for "fire" and ops for "eye"). Of a rare high quality found in Central Bohemia in the north of the Czech Republic.
