Description
Edwardian Silver Double Albert Watch Chain T-Bar and Medal, steeped in English history.
This one is an antique sterling silver double Albert pocket watch chain with a t-bar, medal and working dog catch.
Each link of the chain is hallmarked with the lion passant sterling silver mark.
The bulls eye link is hallmarked for sterling silver Birmingham 1918. The hallmark on the t-bar is also for sterling silver Birmingham 1918 makers mark WWC.
The dog catch works well and close tightly shut and is hallmarked for Birmingham 1918 makers mark WWC.
The medal dates to 1949 and has hand engraved floral detail which has been lovingly worn with age and un-monogramed!
Overall design: 25mm x 15mm.
Total Weight: 71 grams
Albert length measurements: 14 & 1/2 inches long approx. Not including the extra links attached to the fob and t-bar.
The Double Albert is named after Prince Albert (1819-1861), husband of the UK's Queen Victoria.
Condition - in very excellent vintage condition with some slight signs of wear in keeping with age
This is an extremely valuable heritage piece, one to add to your collection.
