A stunning antique Victorian brooch Circa 1890, set with a beautiful hand carved Bull mouth Shell Cameo, complete with pin and safety chain.

Bull mouth Shell has been popular for many years as a base for cameo carvings for it’s beautiful natural patterning which takes expert skill to carve.

The cameo is hand set in a lovely ornate frame with beautiful rope and floral engraving on the outer edge of the frame.

It is set in a lovely 9ct Gold gilt gallery.

This brooch is hand carved from bull mouth shell, it is very well executed and has developed a lovely smoothness to it with age.

The carving displays lovely high relief carving of a man kneeling down with a bow and arrow facing a vase of flowers.

Beautiful cameos as nice as this are extremely desirable and sought after world wide.
