Description

This antique Ruby and Diamond gypsy ring is a quintessential late Victorian-early Edwardian piece.  We're enamoured by the design, quality and craftsmanship of this ring!

The ring comprises of three round cut Rubies and the gemstones are set in very well defined square flush to the band.

The vintage Rubies are interspaced by two old mined hand cut sparkling Diamonds in a starburst design.

Its sparkle is lovely and bright, and the three Rubies have good saturation, in deep rose colour and the old mine hand cut Diamonds have a wonderful bright vintage charm.

The top and bottom front band is edged by a unique and very unusual flare design.

Finely handcrafted in 18 carat Gold with a clear full Chester Hallmark.

The ring is in excellent condition for a piece of antique jewellery of 100+ years old, with minor signs of wear commensurate with age and use.

The overall finish of the ring is wonderful. Everything is smooth to the touch.  

The shank is substantial, yet extremely comfortable to wear.

This ring is sure to become a treasured family heirloom and would make a special gift for a loved one!

These rings became popular in late Victorian times when they were given a friendship band as gifts to either young ladies or by lovers and husbands.

The style of stone setting (low, burnished, with a starburst frame) is called gypsy star setting.

Rings of this type are highly collectable and are sought after worldwide.
