This rare, stunning, fine and impressive antique Victorian Diamond pendant only comes around in our dreams! Circa 1890s.

The pierced decorated, scrolling setting is ornamented with an impressive array of 3.3 carats of old mined hand cut sparkling Diamonds and is suspended by a Diamond articulated bail.

Early Diamond cutters (today known as bruters) shaped old mine cut Diamonds by following the octahedral shape of the diamond crystal, laboriously grinding two Diamonds together to achieve the desired shape, and a diamond polisher then polished the facets.

Due to the shape of the rough and because the Diamonds were hand crafted, dimensions varied from stone to stone.

This made every old mine cut Diamond unique, or put poetically, have its own personality.

Old cut Diamonds are not cut with the same precision as modern stones giving them real individuality and personality.

These fabulous Diamonds have been set in Silver ornate frame with a Gold frame back.

The Diamonds sparkle and glisten continuously captivating the allure of natures beauty.

The overall finish of the pendant is wonderful. Everything is smooth to the touch.

Condition and Wear:

Excellent; very light wear consistent with age and use. There are no major marks or scratches that we feel necessary to mention. All of our jewellery is professionally cleaned prior to us listing it.
