Description

Swallows faithfully returning home. A pretty and distinctively Edwardian brooch, designed as three natural Seed Pearl set swallows in flight, on a curving bar.

There are thirty three natural Seed Pearls. There are no missing or dicoloured pearls, they have gorgeous luster with no damage.

Supposedly the swallow was one of the first birds to land on deck when a ship was close to land, not surprisingly, aside from a popular motif for jewellery it was also a favorite tattoo for sailors!

Handcrafted in the Edwardian era circa 1905 from 15 carat yellow Gold.

The quality of the craftsmanship is superb.

It is a truly beautiful brooch in excellent condition. The pin has a hook under style c-clasp which is working well and fastens with a good secure closure.

It would look very special on a hat or scarf or lapel and would be sure to be noticed!
