Description

This wonderful old world antique Garnet, Pearl and Diamond pendant, or pin, hails from the the Georgian era, 1714 to 1830.

During the Georgian period the kings were all named George: George I, George II, George III and George IV.

The photos really don't do this wonderful antique piece justice.

There are two pear shaped, two princess cut and one shaped foil-backed garnets which are all mounted in typically Georgian balloon-backed collet settings, giving out deep crimson flashes as they hit the light.

The Garnets are displayed within a pierced out Fleur-de-lys design with the center round Garnet set within a halo of twelve natural seed Pearls.

The two pear shaped Garnets are highlighted by two old Rose cut Diamonds.

Finely handcrafted in 9 carat Gold.

The overall finish of the pendant is wonderful. Everything is smooth to the touch.

Complete with a fancy link and ball 16 inch chain with a lobster clasp finely handcrafted in 15 carat Gold.

The chain itself is rare as 15 carat Gold ceased to be used in 1931 and has itself become quite sought after for this reason.

The brooch is in excellent condition for a piece of antique jewellery of 100+ years old, with very litter signs of wear commensurate with age and use.

All original stones and no repairs.

Brooch/pins of this type are highly collectable and are sought after worldwide.
