Description

This wonderful eye catching Memento Mori ring features s skull set with old mine had cut sparkling Diamonds.

The three old mine hand cut Diamonds are set in a Silver skull.

The beautiful bright white Diamonds are full of fire and life.

An old mine cut Diamond evokes the past, when Diamonds were measured by eye and cut by hand.

Due to the shape of the rough and because the Diamonds were hand crafted, dimensions varied from stone to stone.

This made every old mine cut Diamond unique, or put poetically, have its own personality.

The skull leads to a 22 carat yellow Gold band, complete with a hallmark.

The band is very unique and has wonderful hand engraved ornate Gold workmanship, the detail of continual hearts all the way round is equisite.

The overall finish of the ring is wonderful. Everything is smooth to the touch.

The shank is substantial, yet extremely comfortable to wear.

The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the Gold and Silver setting and the Diamonds are intact.

The ring dates Circa 1900's and is steeped in English history.

Memento mori is Latin for "Remember that you have to die". During the 17th Century Memento Mori jewellery was decorated by coffins, skulls, eyes which seems a little macabre today but these pieces were a reminder to cherish those loved one each and every day.

Truly a special piece.
