Description

A fabulous and impressive 18 carat Gold ring with two rows of old mine cut Diamonds with a total weight of two carats.

The old cut Diamonds are bright and white and beautifully matched.

An 18th, 19th and early 20th century Diamond shape, typically cushion or asymmetrical, marked by a small table, a high crown and a large culet.

Culets are the small flat facets at the bottom of a stone which appear to the untrained eye as a hole in the middle of the stone.

Before the advent of modern machinery which allows for the precise faceting we see today, old mine cut diamonds were polished into shape, rather than cut.

Finely handcrafted in 18 carat Gold, Circa 1890.

The overall finish of the ring is wonderful. Everything is smooth to the touch.  

The shank is substantial, yet extremely comfortable to wear.

The very essence of sophistication a magnificent piece of the highest quality, steeped in English history.

The ring is in excellent condition for a piece of antique jewellery of 100+ years old, Victorian chic.

The Diamond ring shows well in the photos though much more beautiful and brilliant sparkle in person!

It would make a stunning engagement or dress ring.

The ring sits low and gently curves over the finger.
