Description

In this stunning estate ring, a glorious Australian Opal gleams, glistens and glows with a mesmerizing colour play.  This type of ring only comes around in our dreams!

The colour of this Opal is a magnificent thing. The Opal displays all the colours of the rainbow in an iridescent, moving pattern of red, green, blue, yellow, aqua, and pinks hues.

The Australian Opal weighs 4 carats, measures 10 x 15mm and originates from Coober Pedy, Australia,  Circa 1920s.

Coober Pedy is a town in northern South Australia, north of Adelaide on the Stuart Highway.

The town is sometimes referred to as the "Opal capital of the world" because of the quantity of precious Opals that are mined there.

The Opal is set in a halo of nineteen beautifully matched European Cut Diamonds, weiging 1.90 carats.

Quality:  H Colour  Clarity:  VS1

These Diamonds have exceptional shimmer and glisten with immense sparkle and brilliance.

Finely handcrafted in Platinum with trumpet detailing to the shoulders leading to a plain band shank.

The whiteness and lustre of Platinum enhances the colour of the Diamonds.

The overall finish of the ring is wonderful. Everything is smooth to the touch.

The shank is substantial, yet extremely comfortable to wear.

The most amazing and practical low setting with a smooth surface that won't catch.

The ring sits low and gently curves over the finger.

To the reverse the Opal and Diamonds are set in open backed settings, this allows the light to shine through for that extra sparkle.

Condition: The overall condition of the ring is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the Platinum setting and the Opal and Diamonds are all intact and securely set.

Please note that the Opal has been re-polished.

During the 1920s era Opals were really popular as they went so well with the fashionable light silk and lace clothes worn in soft colours such as ivory, pink lilac and pale yellows and greens.

Opal is the birthstone for October and the gemstone of the 14th marriage anniversary.

Please note that the picture does not do the colour of the stone justice re: depths and layers of colour.

Images does not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and Diamonds.  The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone.
