Description

A truly remarkable three stone ring, dating back to the 1920s. In the centre is a one carat round cut rich cherry red Ruby. It is held within refined claws, and wonderfully highlighted by two old cut Diamonds, one to either side with a combined weight of 2 carats.

The beautiful bright white Diamonds are full of fire and life.

Early Diamond cutters (today known as bruters) shaped old mine cut Diamonds by following the octahedral shape of the diamond crystal, laboriously grinding two Diamonds together to achieve the desired shape, and a Diamond polisher then polished the facets.

Due to the shape of the rough and because the Diamonds were hand crafted, dimensions varied from stone to stone.

This made every old mine cut Diamond unique, or put poetically, have its own personality.

Old cut Diamonds are not cut with the same precision as modern stones giving them real individuality and personality.

The very fine and tasteful mounting has been finely handcrafted in luxurious Platinum with trumpet detailing to the shoulders leading to a plain band shank.

The overall finish of the ring is wonderful. Everything is smooth to the touch.  

The shank is substantial, yet extremely comfortable to wear.

Rubies and Diamonds have traditionally been combined in jewellery with Rubies representing passion and devotion and Diamonds love and prosperity.
