Description

Stunning romantic large brooch/pendant is beautifully designed and rendered with flowing floral and foliate motifs that foreshadow the wonderful designs of the forthcoming Art Nouveau. This beautiful and impressive Victorian piece is set with 29 old mine cut sparkling Diamonds a total of one carat with 4 dusky grey-cream natural pearls, a total of 0.08 points.

This stunning piece boosts 2 Burmese Rubies, one collet set in the center with a pear shape drop dancing below.

Prized for their beauty, durability, and rarity, it is the quality of the colour of these fabulous Rubies which determines their high value. The pigeon blood red colour is that of a red traffic light, a fluorescent red of high intensity.

Back in their day these extravagantly scaled pieces (stomachers) were worn pinned to the bodice of a dress.

Finely handcrafted in silver over high carat Gold, Circa 1835-1890.

All parts are original and in extremely fine condition.
