Description

This locket is simply delightful and perfectly proportioned and well balanced, Dates 1886, mid-Victorian.

The hand engraved belt/buckle is much like the serpent, it represents eternity, fidelity/loyalty, strength and protection.

As the symbol curves around and threads back into itself, creating an eternal loop, it threads through the buckle and tightly overlaps itself.

The locket opens to reveal one space for that special photo memento.

The locket is engraved inside with: G.K.F.S. Feb 26 1886.

This locket opens to the right and closes securely.

Lovingly hand crafted from high carat yellow Gold.

It is in good antique condition with light surface scratches.

The Victorian era spanned Queen Victoria's rule of England from 1837 until 1901.

During this time, a middle class began to emerge, sparking a demand for jewellery in the mass market.

A very lovely item of mid-Victorian antique jewellery.
