Victorian, Dates - 1890 Victorian Gold oval mourning locket with ''In Memory Of'' on black enamel to the front, within a Gold hand engraved halo design.

Featuring to the center a black enamel forget-me-not flower.

Inscribe inside the locket is "M.C.E.R. April 17 '90" within a framed hand engraved border.

Beautifully artistically designed engraving which was typical of the era.

This locket opens on the left and closes securely.

In fantastic condition, a lovely Heirloom quality Victorian antique mourning locket, a truly sweet delight.

This would have been a perfect locket for the Victorian lady in mourning, she could have worn it with the black side toward the front during the period of deep mourning and then worn it with the Gold side toward the front when her mourning period was through.

Mourning lockets such as this are extremely collectable and sought after worldwide.
