Up until the 18th century, the Amethyst was considered to be amongst the cardinal gems, along side Diamond, Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald.

For a time it's wear was reserved only for royalty and the rich purple color has long been associated with nobility.

This fantastic pendant/brooch boasts a rich claw set purple oval faceted stone with a deep velvety feel, it makes you understand why Royalty used to claim this most regal of stone all to itself!

Hand crafted in 15 carat Gold, this lovely pendant/brooch would have taken a skilled jeweller quite a while to make, the gorgeous scalloped frame and beautifully matched and set Pearls are simply inspired.

The pendant is set with 40 creamy half Pearls are a light, shaded, fresh off-white and all beautifully matched.

A seed pearl is generally defined as a small natural pearl, usually measuring less than 2mm in diameter. Seed Pearls are formed when a foreign object enters the oyster, or when the shell is damaged or compromised. The oyster then protects itself by coating the broken shell in nacre.

Hinged back pin fitting holds securely.

A highly collectable Edwardian brooch and a true work of art, steeped in English history.

Excellent condition especially for its age with all the original stones and no repairs.

This is a fantastically regal brooch/pendant which would look equally wonderful on a chain or simple black cord and could be worn with anything from blue-jeans to ball-gowns!
